We would have been very satisfied except for a number of problems.
We stayed a week in the São Miguel Studio. It suited our requirements and our stay would have been ideal had we not encountered a number of issues. When we arrived, there was a potent, overpowering odour of damp in the bedroom. The air in the room was damp, stale and sickly. I suffer from asthmatic allergies, so the dampness of the room triggered these. As a result, I spent a very uncomfortable, sleepless first night in the apartment and these symptoms lingered on over the next few days. We messaged the agent on what’s app. He messaged back with an apology intimating to us that humidity is an unavoidable part of life in Azores (which is indeed true). However, living in Ireland, which is an extremely wet and damp country, I know all about dampness. So, I can say with some authority the level of dampness in the room was way beyond what is normal and acceptable. The problem of dampness was due to the condition of the room itself, i.e. it is an abnormally damp and humid bedroom (especially compared to other rooms on the island). Also on arrival, we were greeted by a big cockroach in the cupboard and we came across a handful of them during our stay. We messaged the agent on what’s app; he sent his apologies, intimating it was difficult, despite their best efforts, to control cockroaches on the island. No offer to do anything about them though.. My guess is the apartments are run by an agency (someone sitting in an office) and that the preferred modus operandi is to avoid face-to-face contact with visitors. (You are given a code for the door and all communication is by what’s app). It seems to me no-one will call to call fix problems or offer solutions, nor is anyone going to call to check how you you are were getting. A face-to-face personal customer service is what is really lacking here. Even if they could not fix the problems, by calling, it would at least show a level of care and appreciation for the client/customer.

All great, except the misinformation about breakfast.
Everything was wonderful! Location is great, apartment very quiet. I really liked my staying. Host is responsive and nice, he arranged a taxi for transfer to the airport as i wasn't able to make calls myself. I would mention that the host shouldn’t advertise it as having breakfast included, as I received no breakfast.

El mejor alojamiento de azores
Me encantó alojarme en Sao Miguel en rua do Passal 25, muy recomendable, muy atentos y amables. La cama y las instalaciones están genial. Volvería a repetir sin dudarlo.
